Send your guardian angel

Send your guardian angel to Mass with this prayer

When you can’t make it to Mass and are stuck at home, send your guardian angel to church to intercede for you!

Our daily life, whether we realize it or not, is surrounded by the protecting presence of angels!
As the Catechism of the Catholic Church affirms“From its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession. ‘Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life.’ Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God” (CCC 336)
Angels are here to help us and above all, guide us to eternal life.
Many saints would send their guardian angels on various errands, such as praying at a church for them when they were physically unable to do so. This works because angels are spiritual beings and are able to move about our world with relative ease, going from one place to another in less than a second.
This means that when we ask our guardian angel to attend Mass for us, being stuck at home, they will go instantly!
To attend Mass for them is a great joy, as “Christ is the center of the angelic world. They are his angels” (CCC 331). They love God and will gladly pray for us at Mass anywhere in the world!
The angelic world is mysterious, but we are encouraged to pray to them in faith and trust that they will do what they can to lead us closer to God.
Here is a beautiful prayer, often printed on prayer cards, that dates to the 1920s and sends your guardian angel to Mass when you are unable to attend the Holy Sacrifice.
O HOLY ANGEL at my side,
Go to Church for me,
Kneel in my place, at Holy Mass,
Where I desire to be.
At Offertory, in my stead,
Take all I am and own,
And place it as a sacrifice
Upon the Altar Throne.
At Holy Consecration’s bell,
Adore with Seraph’s love,
My Jesus hidden in the Host,
Come down from Heaven above.
Then pray for those I dearly love,
And those who cause me grief,
That Jesus’ Blood may cleanse all hearts,
And suff’ring souls relieve.
And when the priest Communion takes,
Oh, bring my Lord to me,
That His sweet Heart may rest on mine,
And I His temple be.
Pray that this Sacrifice Divine,
May mankind’s sins efface;
Then bring me Jesus’ blessing home,
The pledge of every grace. Amen

St. Mark, Evangelist

Dear Family of Mary!

Here is the April 25, 2020 message from Our Lady of Medjugorje, Queen of Peace:

"Dear children! May this time be an incentive for personal conversion for you. Pray, little children, in solitude to the Holy Spirit to strengthen you in faith and trust in God, that you may be worthy witnesses of the love which God bestows upon you through my presence. Little children, do not permit trials to harden your heart and for prayer to be like a desert. Be a reflection of God's love and witness the Risen Jesus by your lives. I am with you and I love all of you with my motherly love. Thank you for having responded to my call." (April 25, 2020)

When the Lord gives us a suffering

Seer On How We Know It’s From God

[adapted from The God of Healing]
Vicka's Healing“When something comes from God, you have harmony, great joy, and a great peace,” said seer Vicka Ivankovic Matovic, the famous seer at Medjugorje.
“You can’t feel well if you have fear in your heart.
“When you feel fear, confusion, and anguish, it comes from the enemy. You can’t trust your feelings if you do not have inner harmony. For sure, suffering cannot be explained; it can only be lived in one’s own heart. When the Lord gives us a suffering—a cross, pain—this is really a big gift.
Medjugorje. One of the visionaries, Vicka. | Spiritual images ...“We often think, how can sickness be a gift? But it’s a big gift! Only God knows why He gives this gift and only He knows the reason for when He takes it back. It is only up to us how we are ready to accept this. It is enough to say, ‘Thank you God for this gift, that you still have something that you want to give to me, I am ready to receive it. I ask only your strength and courage so that I may carry on.’
“And also the Madonna has told us, ‘you don’t know how great is the value of your suffering in the eyes of God.’ There are different kinds of suffering: there is the suffering that God gives and there is the suffering that we make for ourselves, and these are two different things, they don’t have the same value. We must try to accept that which the Lord wants and we must give thanks and when one gives thanks for this great gift, then graces and fruits and everything come sooner. And then we can’t say ‘I’m suffering, I’m in pain,’ God knows this: accept it, don’t talk about it. One who is still able to speak isn’t suffering.
Suffering is to be lived in our souls and in our hearts. God is always ready to give healing. But for God it’s not so easy for him to give us this gift because there are problems. What are these problems? It is like this: many times when there is some difficulty or suffering for our children, a husband, or one of our neighbors, we beg God with great energy to heal their suffering; we are ready to accept anything, do everything, get on our knees, pray for hours but only for that particular moment.
“The Madonna is ready to give the grace that is being requested. And many times the grace is given in order to show that person that God is near. But the Madonna also said that those graces are not to be played around with, because the Madonna said that after receiving a miracle, some people behave worse than before and then the next time they need a special grace, they pray expecting tSources have reported that the Medjugorje visionary Vicka is ...o be satisfied a second time; they think, ‘You gave me [a healing] once before so must give me [a healing] again today.’ In this way we start playing around with these graces from God.
“Already the Madonna said to us, ‘there is no problem for graces; I am able to give them; through my Son I can pray for these gifts and give them; but the problem is with your hearts. You all ask for healing of everything in the body, but too few ask for healing of the heart. When your hearts begin to heal, then your bodies will begin to heal.’ We must pray to have a lively faith. We should pray every day for this gift and this gift will grow every day in our hearts.”

Mirjana Speaks on Forgiveness

The following was taken from a question and answer session with Mirjana in November of 2018.

     Q.     One of the men who interrogated you came back and apologized to you.
     A.     Miki [the translator]: "Many of them came back to apologize after the war.
     Q.     That was my question – whether others have come back to apologize for the harsh treatment?
Mirjana     A.     To be honest with you, I forgave them right away. Because Our Lady invites us to forgive. And She says that we cannot follow Jesus if we are not ready to forgive. And, while bad things were happening to me in Sarajevo, I used to forgive immediately. Maybe I was even a little selfish, because I wanted just love to reign in my heart. Not revenge. Not hatred. I just wanted Jesus in my heart. So, when the first person came to ask me for forgiveness, I didn't even know who that person was because I forgave so much that I completely forgot him. Only through his explanations, I comprehended, finally, what he was talking about.

Mirjana
But, one of them was interesting. He brought me a cassette recording from an interrogation. And, on that one, I heard my voice as a little girl. And those policemen asked me, "What did you see?" I said, "I saw Our Lady!" And then a policeman told me, "You saw $#!%!" And I said, "No, $#!% is the one that I am looking at right now." But, in order to describe or explain this to you, I was not especially brave. But I was convinced that they would kill me anyway. It is better to be killed with my head up and not that they humiliate me. So, in a certain way, I was kind of proud, and I felt as if I was helping my Jesus to carry His Cross. And that policeman, when he brought this cassette recording, he said to me, "At that time, I already wanted to shake your hand, to tell you, 'Oh, congratulations!'... but I was not allowed to. But now I desire to do that."
But, you see, it is not only visionaries who are like this. Everybody in the village was like that. Because in communism, you simply have to choose: God or power. Here, everybody decided for God. And they had to do everything on their own. Country never helped you. If you want to have a road, you have to build it on your own. If you want to have a telephone, if you want electricity, water – you have to do it on your own.
"Forgive and you will be forgiven"
(Lk 6:37).

And also, many people simply disappeared overnight.
They would be taken away by communists, and they would say to their wives, "If you even cry in public tomorrow, or if you dress in black, your son might disappear next night." But, in spite of this, nobody said, "I do not want God." Everybody went behind God. For example, when apparitions started, even military came into the village, and then they occupied the church with the automatic guns. Then our priest asked them, "Can I please enter and turn on the bells? (Because Masses do not happen.) They said, "Yes, you may." But if you turn on the bells, and people who are in the fields working heard bells, they said, "Our priest is calling us. Nothing else matters." All the soldiers saw like 1,000 people, unarmed, gathering around church. They couldn't shoot, because how would they explain this to the world? And then they reopened the church. I mean, I was not especially brave; everybody was brave at that time.

Be connected!

"We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has ever experienced. I do not think that wide circles of American Society, or wide circles of the Christian Community realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the Gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist. This confrontation lies within the plans of Divine Providence. It is, therefore, in God's Plan, and it must be a trial which the Church takes up, and faces courageously..."   Saint John Paul ll  (1976 - Philadelphia Eucharistic Congress)

April  16, 2020
Easter Thursday
Dear Mary TV Shipmates,

Five years after addressing the Philadelphia Eucharistic Congress with the words above, Our Lady started coming to Medjugorje, prompting St. John Paul ll to recognize: "Medjugorje is the spiritual center of the world."
It could be said the Holy Father saw Our Lady's coming to Medjugorje as "the ace up the sleeve" of the Father for these times!

When on November 11, 2013 the Papal Nuncio to the US quoted those same words (at top) to the USCCB meeting in Baltimore, he said the Holy Father's words were "profoundly prophetic" because they were inspired by St. Faustina and Divine Mercy!  St. John Paul the Great, the Spark from Poland that was sent to prepare the world for Jesus' final coming, believed Divine Mercy to be the Church's most important mission today.  It is, he said, "a gift of God for our time!"
Divine Mercy through St, Faustina could be considered "the ace up the other sleeve" of the Father for these times!
The spiritual center of the world, and the Church's most important mission in the world, cannot be separated!

During his homily in St. James Church in Medjugorje at the beginning of this year the Papal Nuncio to Bosnia and Hercegovina said: "How can Mary be the Queen of Peace without being at the same time, Queen of Divine Mercy?  We are here in the temple of the Queen of Peace raised in Bosnia and Hercegovina.  Mary is the Queen of Peace because she is the Queen of God's Mercy, whose face is Jesus!"
Spread the video below to family and friends - spread it everywhere - before April 19th, Divine Mercy Sunday!  Let's do this for Our Lady!
Thank you and God bless you!

Easter wishes of Mons. Henryk Hoser, Apostolic Visitator

date: 11.04.2020.
Dear priests, religious brothers and nuns, dear pilgrims and parishioners of Medjugorje parish,
Brothers and sisters,
The social life as it was interrupted in the whole world. We live painful and surreal time in which, along with changing many life habits, we had to give up regular life and meeting other people, spending time with them, as well as Eucharistic celebrations. Surely, the most painful is the “eucharistic fasting”, sacrifice required from us only in love towards the other.
More less, that is the picture of Medjugorje nowadays. Medjugorje is immersed in peace and fearful silence, paths of many pilgrims are nearly empty, accommodation homes and church is closed.
This is opportunity for us to live more profoundly the Holy Week, the mystery of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection. This is opportunity for us to see in our troubles and in afflictions of the others the face of Christ - of the One who was innocent, accused and condemned to death, scourged, tortured and deprived of every human dignity.
How did our Lord feel? He felt immense physical suffering, but what was greater was the suffering of His soul. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He sweat blood seeing the sins of the world and his death that was approaching.
He lived abandonment and isolation, everyone left Him and ran away. He went through a horrible feeling of solitude. Left from people, he also felt left alone from God and he exclaimed on the cross: „My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?“During this entire terrifying time, Jesus was aware He was a Servant. He only thought about the others: apostles, crying women, criminals who were crucified at the same time with Him, he thought about the whole world – let us meditate on the Seven Words of Jesus on the Cross!
Today, the world also lives its suffering. There are many of those who died, who are left alone, many live by themselves and do not have financial funds, many who are disabled. Let us all become servants! Let us help one another. Let us help those who are old, poor, who live without any help, families with children, above all, let us help parents who are alone without their spouses. We can break this isolation, not just in our families, but with all neighbours and people who live in our vicinity.
After death and silence of death, the Resurrection shall come. After this pandemic, there will be again normal life, but in a different way – this shall be the time of thanking God for our life, for its every breath, for getting back to normal circumstances, for opened churches and intensive sacramental life.
Dear brothers and sisters, we have one powerful instrument before this catastrophe: the prayer of trust, fervent and permanent prayer. Medjugorje church seems to be temporary immersed in the outer silence, but prayer is still alive in it. In prayer communion with all Medjugorje priests, nuns, religious, different communities and parishioners, you can join us now every night through different media instruments, and thus make a “little church” in your own homes.
Be assured that I am blessing you and praying daily for your intentions. I entrust you all to intercession of Risen Christ and Mary, the Queen of Peace.
+ HenrykHoser, S.A.C, the Apostolic Visitor for Medjugorje parish
