The Medjugorje Message: Grace from heaven

The Medjugorje Message: Grace from heaven: The word of God – a precious gift from heaven – is enough to set the world and hearts alight. Our Lady invites us to receive and accept her ...

Our Lady came with Legions of Angels

On January 2nd, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at her home. After the apparition, she shared the following message:

“Dear children! Today I am calling you to, with complete trust and love, set out with me, because I desire to acquaint you with my Son. Do not be afraid, my children, I am here with you, I am next to you. I am showing you the way to forgive yourselves, to forgive others, and, with sincere repentance of heart, to kneel before the Father. Make everything die in you that hinder you from loving and saving - that you may be with Him and in Him. Decide for a new beginning, a beginning of sincere love of God Himself. Thank you.”

On the evening of December 31, 2009, Marija asked the Blessed Mother for a special favor explaining that the next day, the feast of the Mother of God and the first day of the year, many pilgrims requested that they attend the apparition at her home the following day; but because her chapel is very small, she was sad not to be able to offer this opportunity to all who asked. So she asked the Blessed Mother for a change in location to make it easier for more people to attend. She suggested that instead of coming at 5:40, to Marija’s chapel, Our Lady would appear in the evening on Apparition Hill so that everyone could attend. The Gospa replied that she would do both on the first of the year, come to the chapel at 5:40 and come to Apparition Hill in the evening.

So, on the Evening of January 1st, we were all on Podbrdo, praying our rosaries under the pouring rain, with our feet in the mud and our hearts in joy. The apparition lasted quite a while, and Marija told us, "The Gospa came today very happy, with legions of Angels!"She looked at all of us and smiled at us saying, ‘You are my joy, you are my hope!’ Then she urged us to live the messages that she has given us.” This is how we started the year 2010 with Her and with Her Heavenly army of Angels. We’ll definitely need them this year! And we entrusted all of you to Her motherly care... Children of Medjugorje, Praised be Jesus and Mary!

12,000 Masses said for Mary's Plans...

by Jakob Marschner
Spirit of Medjugorje editor June Klins urges her readers to have a Mass said for the Virgin Mary’s intentions. The response has surpassed her expectations, and after 18 months the number is nearing 12,000. “If all the pilgrims responded, the world could radically change” she says.

Thousands of Masses for the Virgin Mary’s intentions have been celebrated after June Klins, the editor of the newsletter Spirit of Medjugorje, first urged her readers to initiate such Masses in March 2013. With more being reported every day, 11,600 Masses have been celebrated so far.
“The idea germinated in January 2013. A priest who is the senior associate at my parish mentioned at a daily Mass that he, as a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, can have a “free” Mass once a month for whatever intentions he wants, so for years, he has had a Mass said for the intentions of the Blessed Mother. He suggested that as a New Year’s resolution, we could have a Mass said once a year for the the Blessed Mother’s intentions” June Klins tells Medjugorje Today.
June Klins

“Soon after that, a very holy lady at my church gave me an envelope before Mass one Sunday. In the envelope was a note card with a quote from Mother Teresa that said, “Let’s do something beautiful for God,” along with $333.33 in cash. The note said, “June, it was laid on my heart to give you this exact amount of money ($333.33). I trust it will be revealed to you why and how it is to be used.”
“I prayed about how to use that money and it came to me to use the money for Masses for Our Lady’s intentions, as Father had suggested. I reflected on his words, and the fact that the number 3 can denote the Holy Trinity, it seemed like a good plan” June Klins says.
In the days and weeks to come, the editor from Pennsylvania saw further confirmation in frequent encounters with repeated numbers. $333.33 was only the first in a string of such numbers.
When June Klins left the church that Sunday, the clock read 11.11. On her way back, the temperature sign at a business near her home read 33 degrees. Within a week, she received a check of $222 to help a priest in Uganda. And a little card saying “Psalm 33:22″ suddenly appeared in a place she had not expected it to be.

“Duplicate numbers jumped out at me. I felt that these were confirmations that this was God’s will. The following day, I planned to request the Masses, and then it came to me that if I added the $222 to it, which was going to Fr. Fredrick in Uganda anyway, that would make $555.33, which would allow for 111 Masses” June Klins says.
“I was really getting excited because 111 has been a significant number to me since January 11 (1/11), 1998. That was when my healing of a strange condition that left me in chronic pain began through Our Lady of Medjugorje. As I suspected, Fr. Fredrick was honored to be able to celebrate the 111 Masses for Our Lady’s intentions.”
The priest's consecration of the Host is the spiritual culmination of the Mass

“Since we began I have asked people, if they wish, to report to us when they have a Mass said so we can keep track. The reason to keep track – since Our Lady would know anyway when a Mass was said for her intentions – is to encourage more people to do it. I initially hoped to have 1000 Masses said by the 33rd anniversary in June this year, as a special gift to Our Lady in gratitude. But the total by that date was actually nearly 10 times that – 9,322!” June Klins tells.
The initiative is a literal response to many of the Virgin Mary’s messages from Medjugorje.
“Our Lady has asked us to pray for her intentions many times over the years.  In fact, in the August 25, 2014 message, that is the first sentence of her message. The Mass is the highest form of prayer, so does it not make sense that this would be the best way to pray for her intentions?  She never asked us directly to do this, but I can imagine it makes her very happy. I am sure she does not want us to pay for a Mass stipend and then not pray ourselves. I think she would want us to have Masses said, but also continue to pray the Rosary, etc. for her intentions” June Klins says.

“If everyone who ever went to Medjugorje had a Mass said for her intentions in thanksgiving, that would be millions of Masses!  It could radically change the world.”

Dear Family of Mary

The Miracle of the Sun in Medjugorje

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! You are not aware of the graces that you are living at this time in which the Most High is giving you signs for you to open and convert. Return to God and to prayer, and may prayer begin to reign in your hearts, families and communities, so that the Holy Spirit may lead and inspire you to every day be more open to God's will and to His plan for each of you. I am with you and with the saints and angels intercede for you. Thank you for having responded to my call."  (July 25, 2014)

Many pilgrims experience unusual events during their time in Medjugorje. Most commonly these events happen in the sky, in the cloud formations, in the stars and moon, and in the sun. Many pilgrims have been able to gaze at the sun which normally would not be possible. And they have seen different images in the sun, like the Host, or a Cross, and even the outline of Our Lady or Jesus, or the Sacred Heart. These signs in the sun harken back to Fatima, when on October 13, 1917 the sun danced in the sky, and plunged toward earth, frightening the thousands of people who were present for the apparition. It seems that Our Lady's presence in Medjugorje is making the sun rejoice and dance as it did at Fatima.

I want to share something that was shared by Father John Amsberry who gave the homily for English Mass on September 23, 2014. It is one example of a sign in the sun that is given to pilgrims and the effect it has.

This is my third time to come here to Medjugorje. The first time I came was in 1986. The one thing that impressed me...I had just graduated from The Franciscan University of Steubenville, and I came over with my brother and another fellow who is now a Dominican priest, was the faith of the people, their fidelity. I don't need fireworks to believe in the reality of God's love. We just need to pray. We need to pray and become more connected to God and He will be more real to us. So I remember the fidelity of the people.

The second time I came was in the summer of 2011. I came with my brother, his wife and their three children. We had just prayed, and then we went to a restaurant. There was an Italian family right by us, and they started freaking out, "Oh, Oh Look!!" The sun was dancing. So we looked, and we saw the sun that was dancing. And I watched my two nephews and my niece as they watched the sun dance. Then we asked them, "What did you experience?" And youngest nephew, Ciaran, who was about eight years old at that point said, "I saw the sun, and then I saw a man carrying a cross across the sun, and then three people following that cross." And I thought what a great image and picture for us. Of course my brother started crying because he had been praying that that would be his three kids following the Cross of Jesus Christ. Following Him to the fullness of life.

I think this is a great image for us today. To follow the Cross of Jesus Christ.

Then going back to 1986, the first time I was here, I saw the miracle of the sun dance, and I was able to look at the sun, and then the Eucharistic Host came out from the sun and it turned red and it started bleeding. And I took that as the Blood of Christ, in the Eucharist, for us. Out of love for us, it was coming down to us to heal us and to make us whole and to give us the gift of the taste of heaven, what we were created for.

I wanted to give you those images, because that is what is constantly happening in the Eucharist and in our lives. The Body and Blood of Christ is offered for us so that you can know that you are loved and you can have everything now in His life for you, that He is offering everything now.

Let's go back to St. Pio, and what he said, "I just want to be known as a poor Franciscan who prays." I just want to be known as someone who in his poverty prays to God and He offers us everything now! This is the God we celebrate. This is why we are here. So let's open our hearts to God and let Mary and Jesus woo us into that eternal delight that is available to us now as God offers it to us in this liturgy. My brothers and sisters, you are loved and let's pray that we will enter into it.

Thank you, Lord, for giving us signs in the sun in Medjugorje. May these signs bear wonderful fruit in the lives of pilgrims! May we open our hearts to God and receive the graces of conversion and healing He is pouring out through them!!

In Jesus, Mary and Joseph!

Consecration to the Holy Spirit

Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit

On my knees before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and body to You, Eternal Spirit of God.  I adore the brightness of Your purity, the unerring keenness of Your justice, and the might of Your love.  You are the Strength and Light of my soul.  In You I live and move and am.  I desire never to grieve You by my unfaithfulness and I pray with all my heart to be kept from the smallest sin against You.  Mercifully guard my every thought and grant that I may always watch for Your light, and listen to Your voice, and follow Your gracious inspirations.  I cling to You and give myself to You and ask You, by Your compassion, to watch over me in my weakness.  Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds, and trusting in His Precious Blood, I implore You, Holy Spirit, Helper of my infirmity, to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You.  Give me grace, O Holy Spirit, Spirit of the Father and the Son, to say to You always and everywhere, “Speak Lord for Your servant listens.”Amen.

Dear children! Today I call you, through prayer and sacrifice, to prepare yourselves for the coming of the Holy Spirit. Little children, this is a time of grace and so, again, I call you to decide for God the Creator. Allow Him to transform and change you. May your heart be prepared to listen to, and live, everything which the Holy Spirit has in His plan for each of you. Little children, allow the Holy Spirit to lead you on the way of truth and salvation towards eternal life. Thank you for having responded to my call.

Fr. Peter Mary Rookey Funeral-Our Lady of Sorrows 9-15-14

Published on Sep 16, 2014
Fr. Peter Mary Rookey, who served the Lord for over 73 years as a holy priest of the Servite Order, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 9-10-14. Thousands, all around the world, were healed by Jesus through his holy hands. Here is a video of a portion of his funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in Chicago held on 9-15-14. It was the actual feast day of Our Lady of Sorrows who, along with Jesus, he dedicated his life to serving. His favorite priest, Fr. David Simonetti, gives a beautiful homily, and his very close friend, Irish singer David Parkes, sings Shubert's Ave Maria in a heartfeld tribute to his beloved Fr. Rookey. We praise the Lord for touching the lives of millions through this faithful priest who we all knew was a living saint. Rest in peace, dearest Fr. Peter.

LAY FAST FOR PRIESTS 2014
Ninth, annual Lay Fast for Priests day announced

ATTLEBORO, MA – 16 September 2014 – ARK Ministries has announced that the ninth, annual Lay Fast for Priests will take place
on Saturday, 18 October 2014.  Lay Catholics from all areas of the world will unite in a common day of fasting and prayer on the
day. The  fast day will begin at dawn and conclude at 3.00 PM.

Fasting is praying with the body. In his general audience on 12 January 1994, St. John Paul II stated that “prayer united with
sacrifice is the most powerful force in human history.”  On this day again, as in the past seven years,  a global army of catholic lay
people will join together in a day of common fast and prayer to offer up these small sacrifices for our priests. “Millions of Catholics
pray every day for our priests. However, this Lay Fast allows us one common day each year when all our prayers aligned with fasting
can be offered for our priests in a joint sacrifice by the laity,” said Anna Rae-Kelly, Founder of the Lay Fast for Priests.

The “Lay Fast for Priests” annual event began in 2006 in the Diocese of Fall River, Massachusetts and has taken place on the
third Saturday of October each year since then.  Thousands of lay Catholics join the common event from around the world.
In 2013, the Lay Fast was held in 54 countries.

We humbly ask that the spirituality of every priest will be strengthened and protected and that God will bless us with greater
numbers of holy priests through whose consecrated hands we will continue to receive the Eucharist” commented Rae-Kelly.

Information and advice on how to register to join the day can be found at http://www.annaprae.com/layfast2014onlinesignup.html
or by calling the Lay Fast for Priests publicity team at (774) 204 1530.

Italian Cured From Multiple Sclerous

Gigliola Candian from Venice had multiple sclerosis and was confided to a wheelchair. In Medjugorje on September 13 she saw a great light, realized she could walk, and stood up. “To me, it is a miracle” says the 48 years old Italian who visited Medjugorje before, but never prayed for a healing.

Medjugorje saw another inexplicable, spontaneous cure last Saturday when 48 years old Gigliola Candian from Venice, Italy, stood up from her wheelchair after 10 years, healed from multiple sclerosis.
“To me, it is a miracle. I felt a great heat in the legs and I saw a light. From that moment I realized that I could walk” Gigliola Candian tells the Italian newspaper Il Gazzettino.

Fr. Jozo Zovko: He that can separate you from the alter is your only enemy.

Fr. Jozo Zovko speaks of the Holy Eucharist

Place your life upon this altar. You will witness how a priest will place a drop of water within a chalice full of wine. That drop of water intermingles with the wine and signifies you in the Holy Mass. You can become one, unite with and intermingle with Jesus. That is why the Holy Mass is called Communion ...union with God ...you and your God together ...that is the Holy Eucharist. All of us together and Jesus. That is the church, and that is where the one, holy Catholic apostolic church comes from.
.
"He who can separate you from the altar is your only enemy. There is no other"
.
Every time we come into the church and celebrate the Holy Mass, that is our embrace, our hanging onto Our Lord and saying, "Lord where would we go, for you are the Word of Life." Where did the martyrs gain so much strength from? In the Church, where did the witnesses gain their strength from? To date, in this year, 23 missionaries have been murdered around the world in four months. That is a lot. How can a man give his life for Jesus simply, with delight? It is the Holy Mass that does this within us, so that for you I'm able to give my very eyes, my arms and my life, my everything as Jesus gave His all; and the same way the Christian must give his all.

Yes, once again, I must return to the Holy Mass and the Holy Eucharist. Why is it that churches and sects do not tolerate the Mass, do not respect Our Lady? Because they go hand-in-hand. Yes, they go together. Our Lady teaches to come to love Jesus, to fall in love with Him, and that is why she places us before the Holy Eucharist, and pleads with us to pray before this holy, blessed Sacrament, so from Jesus we may learn to become bread for others; so that I not have fear to say, "Take this, all of you, of me, and eat of it."

I know a lot of Anglican and Protestant priests, ministers, that were in Medjugorje.

I know of a Presbyterian bishop that I have met from Washington. He had sent a multitude of his priests to Medjugorje as well. When I was in Washington a few years ago, I visited him because he visited me and came to Medjugorje.

He had a problem, a cross, that was inflicted upon him. His son was shot in Vietnam and became paralyzed. When his son returned from the war, he said to his wife, "Let us make a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. I believe Our Lady will hear us." And Our Lady gave a miracle. The son was healed and converted the parents. The bishop desired that all of his priests come to know Our Lady. Eight of those priests to date have become Catholic priests, without any shouts, without publication, without media. Our Lady works in miraculous ways. She was always the sign, the sign of a better world, the sign of peace and unity in the Church, the sign of our salvation. May it also truly be the same in your city or town. Let us commence this Holy Mass by preparing ourselves and involving this great grace.

Renounce everything that distances you from the Lord

Medjugorje Message to Mirjana of September 2, 2011

"Dear children; With all my heart and soul full of faith and love in the Heavenly Father, I gave my Son to you and am giving Him to you anew. My Son has brought you, the people of the entire world, to know the only true God and His love. He has led you on the way of truth and made you brothers and sisters. Therefore, my children, do not wander, do not close your heart before that truth, hope and love.

Everything around you is passing and everything is falling apart, only the glory of God remains.

Therefore, renounce everything that distances you from the Lord.

Adore Him alone, because He is the only true God. I am with you and I will remain with you. I am especially praying for the shepherds that they may be worthy representatives of my Son and may lead you with love on the way of truth. Thank you.

Again I call you to holiness

During a mission in Padua (Italy) on Aug. 21,
Ivan received his apparition and shared the following message: "Dear children, also today again I call you to holiness. Pray, dear children, for the holiness of the family. Pray, dear children, for prayer to enter your families and become a joy for you. Rejoice in prayer, so that with prayer, dear children, you can have this full and deep peace. For with prayer, dear children, you allow the Holy Spirit to descend into your heart and bring you new strength and light in your life. Pray, pray, pray, dear children, open yourselves and you will obtain this. I pray, and I ask my Son to grant you this gift. Thank you, dear children, because also today you have responded to my call."

The Most Holy Name of Mary

Dear Family of Mary!

"Dear children! Already for a long time I am giving you my motherly heart and offering my Son to you. You are rejecting me. You are permitting sin to overcome you more and more. You are permitting it to master you and to take away your power of discernment. My poor children, look around you and look at the signs of the times. Do you think that you can do without God's blessing? Do not allow darkness to envelop you. From the depth of your hearts cry out for my Son. His Name disperses even the greatest darkness. I will be with you, just call on me: 'Here we are Mother, lead us.' Thank you." (May 2, 2009)

On this beautiful Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary, I want to share an excerpt from Fr. Don Calloway's testimony of conversion. He lived a very sinful life as a young man but received the gift of conversion through Our Lady of Medjugorje. He discovered Our Lady in a book about Medjugorje, and decided he needed to change his life. And right after this deep conversion, the devil came to take his soul before the conversion could be completed. Here is what happened:

[After hours of kneeling, crying and praying] I got up from kneeling. Then, at a loss for what to do next, I made the decision to go to bed. What had happened to me was so unbelievable that I just wanted to sleep. Then I would get up the next day and tell Fr. Callahan what I had experienced.

When I curled up on my couch - I didn't even have a bed in my room, only a couch - I was so at peace. But all of a sudden something below me and within me - this is very difficult to explain - knocked me out of my body.   I literally felt as if I had left my body. My physical form remained on the couch, but my soul or spirit had left.

I was paralyzed and in a state of shock. I couldn't move my hands or any part of my body. I tried to scream for my mother, but I couldn't make a sound.

For a moment, I thought I might be going to hell - as if everything I had just come to know was suddenly being taken away from me; I had been such a bad person that I wasn't worthy of God's mercy. I was going to go to this place of eternal separation from everything I had just come to know as being true and beautiful and good. I had no idea what to do.

Then, with every part of my being, I managed to interiorly scream. I spiritually cried out, "Mary!" It was so strong and penetrating a cry, it seemed to echo throughout to echo throughout the cosmos. It was like a little boy screaming for his mother after he's fallen and been seriously injured.

All of a sudden, I was violently slammed back into my body with what seemed like the force of the entire universe. It was so violent a thrust that I expected my mom to come running into my room to check on me. Yet nobody came because no one heard a sound.

After I got over the shock of the impact, a feeling of peace overwhelmed me, a peace that was tangible. Then I heard a voice, the most feminine voice I have ever heard and ever will hear. It was within me, it was outside of me, it was like liquid love being poured over me. It was pure maternal love. It said, "Donnie, I'm so happy." That's all I heard but I knew who it was. Nobody called me Donnie but my mother. Nobody. I knew this was the voice of Mary, the Blessed Virgin Mary. I was so at peace that I felt like a little boy snuggled close to his mother's breast. I was so at peace, so loved, and so at rest that I went into a deep sleep. I hadn't slept like that since I was a young boy. (Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC. "No Turning Back". Marian Press. Stockbridge. p. 179-180)

The Most Holy Name of Mary!! The most powerful Name Mary!! Fr. Calloway knew instinctively to call on the name of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, she who had brought him conversion. We too can call on her name, she will come and help us in all our difficulties. She drives the devil away simply by her presence.  She can protect us.

To close, here is an excerpt from the Breviary for Sept. 12, Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary:

The Most Holy Name of Mary

O thou, whosoever thou art, that knowest thyself to be here not so much walking upon firm ground, as battered to and fro by the gales and storms of this life's ocean, if thou wouldest not be overwhelmed by the tempest, keep thine eyes fixed upon this star's clear shining. If the hurricanes of temptation rise against thee, or thou art running upon the rocks of trouble, look to the star, call on Mary. If the waves of pride, or ambition, or slander, or envy toss thee, look to the star, call on Mary. If the billows of anger or avarice, or the enticements of the flesh beat against thy soul's bark, look to Mary. If the enormity of thy sins trouble thee, if the foulness of thy conscience confound thee, if the dread of judgement appall thee, if thou begin to slip into the deep of despondency, into the pit of despair, think of Mary.

In danger, in difficulty, or in doubt, think on Mary, call on Mary. Let her not be away from thy mouth or from thine heart, and that thou mayest not lack the succour of her prayers, turn not aside from the example of her conversation. If thou follow her, thou wilt never go astray. If thou pray to her, thou wilt never have need to despair. If thou keep her in mind, thou wilt never fall. If she lead thee, thou wilt never be weary. Fr. Peter Rookey has gone to his eternal reward...

Dear Friends,
Our dear and holy Fr. Peter Rookey has gone to his eternal reward. Father passed away in his sleep last night at the Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows in Chicago. Father is the reason Our Sorrowful Mother’s Ministry was born. It's necessary to get a bit of background information to help you better understand. Everyone has a Fr. Rookey story; this one is ours.
Our reversion journey was ramped up considerably when we began to care for Fr. Rookey as he came to St. Louis every month for First Saturday. We had attended a couple of his healing masses when we were approached by his worker at the time and asked if we take over her job as it was too much for her. She was getting advanced in age and just knew that we were the ones to fulfill the role.

Many people were not happy with us for assuming this role as we were newbies AND we lived 90 minutes away. There were many long standing faithful followers of Fr. Rookey who had been attending the services for years who lived right in St. Louis. Wouldn’t it make more sense to ask one of them...? But no, Our Lady and Her Spouse, the Holy Spirit, chose us through their servant, Geneva Davis. Every First Saturday Father would celebrate mass at the Basilica in Chicago in the morning and would then fly into St. Louis Saturday evening. He would then go to St. Norbert’s in north county and have another mass and healing service and then on Sunday go to Mary, Queen of the Universe in south county to celebrate another healing mass in the afternoon and then return back to Chicago. With that being said, we would go to St. Norbert’s on Saturday early evening and set up all of the items for sale from Father’s ministry; 7 Sorrows CDs, his books, rosaries, etc. We would be in the vestibule of the church greeting everyone who came for the healing mass and attending to their purchases and donations. Mass would be celebrated with a healing service and witnessing to the miracles that took place.  We would then try to protect Father from the throngs and whisk him off to south St. Louis to Seven Holy Founders Rectory for him to spend the night.  We would come home to Vandalia that night and then go back the next morning
and have coffee with him in the rectory.  From there, we started our rounds of the many people who had called to have Father come
and bless them, pray for them and hope for a miracle.  So off we would go to people's homes, hospitals & emergency rooms
for Father to anoint the many sick and suffering.  We would then take him to south St. Louis to pray the Servite Rosary and celebrate mass and have the healing service.  We would set up the same things in their vestibule to sell for Father’s ministry.

After the healing service and witnessing was complete, we would scoop him up again and take him to the airport to fly back to Chicago Sunday night. Each time at the airport we would get out of the vehicle to say goodbye and afterward he would “tuck us in”(close the car doors for each of us)and then say to us, “You kids go straight home now!”  He would then stand at the drop off point at the departing flights and wave with two fingers until we were out of sight.
This was forever known as “Fr. Rookey Weekend”.  Our families knew that when the First Saturday of the month came, we were not going to be home.  In the years that we did this, we only missed one weekend due to a family emergency.

This ministry that we did for Fr. Rookey’s ministry was the greatest grace we could imagine.  As the years have gone on, we came to realize more and more what a miracle this was for us.
The miracles we witnessed and the love that Fr. Rookey embodied taught us more about ministry than we could ever hope to know.
He had a relationship with the Blessed Mother that was so powerful and so strong you could feel it emanating from his very soul.

We have loved Fr. Rookey since the first time our eyes fell upon his holy face of Love.
Even after Father’s ministry ended in terms of public healing services and his phone ministry continued, we were always in contact.  We would visit him regularly at his office and he would come to some of our retreats and
our annual conference every year.  We also kept in contact by phone and he went on pilgrimage with us to the Holy Land in 2009.

Several years ago Father gave us many of the relics of his priesthood right down to his original habit and traveling mass kit he had worn and used for fifty plus years all over the world.
Father was 97 years old and a priest for 73 years.  He would have been 98 in October.  How special that he was taken in the month of Our Sorrowful Mother, but who would be surprised by that?

Our prayer is that the Servite Order will commit his soul to Heaven on the Feast of Our Sorrowful Mother on Monday, September 15th.  Please pray for this intention with us.
Father loved the Sorrowful Mother and the Church more than anything in the world.  He was completely faithful and was an obedient servant to a fault.

He was our father, grandfather, brother and dear friend, but most of all, he was just Love from head to foot inside and out.
Our ministry was borne out of his holy priesthood and we will be forever grateful and honored for this great grace that God chose to bestow upon us.
We love you Father now and always.  You go straight home now!
Dedicated to Father Peter Mary Rookey and the sacrifices and sufferings he bore for so many.
With abundant love and gratitude,
Debbie & Vanessa
