Our Lady's Medjugorje message to Marija of April 25, 2016

“Dear children! My Immaculate Heart bleeds as I look at you in sin and sinful habits. I am calling you: return to God and to prayer that it may be good for you on earth. God is calling you through me for your hearts to be hope and joy for all those who are far away. May my call be for you a balm for the soul and heart so that you may glorify God, the Creator, who loves you and is calling you to eternity. Little children, life is short; You, make good use of this time and do what is good. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

I call you to pray for your Shepherds

Dear Family of Mary!
St. Mark
Dear Family of Mary!
Our Lady asks us to pray for our priests. She loves them with a special love, and she understand that we need them more than we know. They carry a heavy load, and are misunderstood in the larger society. Here is a Litany that I put together made up of many quotes from Our Lady's messages. They contain beautiful words to help us to esteem and pray for our priests. The final prayer is one Saint Faustina wrote in her Diary.
A Litany for Our Priests
V. Lord, have mercy on us.
R. Christ, have mercy on us.
V. Lord, have mercy on us. Christ, hear us.
R. Christ, graciously hear us.
God, the Father of heaven, have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Holy Mary, pray for us.
Mother of God, pray for us
Mary, mother of our priests, pray for them.
"I call you to pray for your shepherds. Alongside them, I will triumph." (October 2, 2010)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Again I am calling you: pray for your shepherds." (November 2, 2011)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds so that through your fasting and prayer they can lead you in love." (February 02, 2013)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds that they may always have love for you as my Son had, and showed by giving His life for your salvation." November 02, 2013
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds that the ray of God's grace may illuminate their ways." (February 02, 2014)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds and place your trust in their blessed hands." (March 02, 2014)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds. I pray for them and I desire that they may always feel the blessing of my motherly hands and the support of my motherly heart." (April 02, 2014)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds that they may always lead you with a pure heart on the way of truth and love - the way of my Son." (June 02, 2014)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"I am imploring you anew to pray for your shepherds so that they may always look to my Son who was the first Shepherd of the world and whose family was the entire world." (December 02, 2014)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds because they are the strength of the Church which my Son left to you. Through my Son, they are the shepherds of souls." (March 02, 2015)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds. They belong to my Son. He called them. Pray that they may always have the strength and the courage to shine with the light of my Son." (June 02, 2015)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds that they may have the strength and the love to be bridges of salvation." (December 02, 2015)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"I implore you to pray for your shepherds that at every moment they may have love, that they may work for my Son with love - through Him and in memory of Him." (April 2, 2016)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for your shepherds that, united in my Son, they can always joyfully proclaim the Word of God." (March 18, 2012)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
"Pray for priests. Pray that the unity between my Son and them may be all the stronger, that they may be one." (September 02, 2012)
Father, have mercy on our priests.
Let us pray:
O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church: Grant it love and the light of Your Spirit, and give power to the words of priests so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord.
Lord, give us holy priests; You yourself maintain them in holiness. O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests.
May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things. (1152)   Amen.

THE COST OF PENTECOST

"The disciples could not but be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit." -Acts 13:52

In thirteen days, we will begin praying the Pentecost novena. The Lord intends to give us a renewal of our Baptisms and Confirmations that will truly change the world. In the Holy Spirit, we will receive power (Acts 1:8) and be "clothed with power from on high" (Lk 24:49). In the Holy Spirit, we will do works even greater than Jesus did (Jn 14:12).

Because of our great power in the Holy Spirit, we are a threat to the devil. He must stop us by bribing us with fleeting, enslaving pleasures. If that doesn't work, he attempts to intimidate us by threatening to inflict pain on us and persecute us. Consequently, we must be willing to endure "violent abuse" (Acts 13:45) and even death, rather than compromise the gospel.

Do you want to receive the Holy Spirit in much greater ways? Knowing that you will receive both power and pain, will you cry out: "Come, Holy Spirit!"? Let us decide to take up the cross, the cost of Pentecost.

Father, work in unprecedented glory through the Pentecost novena this year.

"Anything you ask Me in My name I will do." -Jn 14:14

Dear Children of Medjugorje, Praised be Jesus and Mary!

From the Desk of Sr. Emmanuel Maillard
Medjugorje, April 20, 2016

Dear Children of Medjugorje, Praised be Jesus and Mary!

1. April 2, 2016, Mirjana received her monthly apparition at the Blue Cross. After the apparition, she shared the following message:

"Dear children, do not have hearts that are hard, closed and filled with fear. Permit my motherly love to illuminate them and fill them with love and hope; so that, as a mother, I may soothe your pains because I know them, I experienced them. Pain elevates and is the greatest prayer. My Son, in a special way, loves those who suffer pains. He sent me to soothe them for you and bring hope. Trust in Him. I know that it is difficult for you because you see more and more darkness around you. My children, it is necessary to break it by prayer and love. The one who prays and loves is not afraid, he has hope and a merciful love, he sees the light and sees my Son. As my apostles, I call you to keep trying to be an example of merciful love and hope. Always pray anew for all the more love because merciful love brings light which breaks every darkness - it brings my Son. Do not be afraid, you are not alone, I am with you. I implore you to pray for your shepherds that at every moment they may have love, that they may work for my Son with love - through Him and in memory of Him. Thank you."

2. Two great confessors.
Did you know that the 2 patron saints for the Year of Divine Mercy are Padre Pio and Leopold Mandić? On April 13, a great blessing came upon Zagreb, Croatia. The Italians allowed the body of St. Leopold (known to some as "the Croatian Priest of Ars" like St. Jean Vianney) to travel from Padua to Croatia. He was solemnly revered in the Cathedral of Zagreb in front of a captivated crowd, alongside Blessed Cardinal Stepinac. Many confessions lasted until midnight and started again early the next morning. Interestingly: in the place where Leopold was born, Boka Kotorska, families had many children and often the 1st son became a priest. Leopold was an exception, because he was the 12th child. He worked very hard to unite the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church of the East, a hot issue even today.
In Medjugorje, his statue stands right next to the confessionals, and that is not a coincidence: he is watching over the pilgrims so that they may make a good confession!

When Father Leopold Mandic's superiors told him that he was too lenient with those who came to confess to him, he answered: "If the Lord wants to accuse me of showing too much leniency towards sinners, I will tell Him that it was He who set the example! And I didn't even die for the salvation of souls as He did." Father Mandić often said to his penitents: "Be at peace, put everything on my shoulders, I'll take care of it.''  This is what he explained: "I give my penitents only small penances because I do the rest myself." And indeed, at night, he would spend hours in prayer, doing penance for his penitents.

During the bombings in World War 2, in Padua, the entire Church burned down except for his wooden confessional and his cell, as he had prophesied. "God has shown so much mercy here for his children that this must remain a monument to his goodness.''

Padre Pio had a reputation for being rather strict. But he was able to read people's souls, and knew what was necessary for his or her conversion. He knew that many came to him hoping for a miracle, but without the intention of changing. The process of conversion began with him, but like any good confessor, spiritual guide or friend who helps people on their journey, he could not make the decision of conversion for them. Every person must make their own decision.
Pope Francis explained why he had chosen Padre Pio and St. Leopold Mandić for the Jubilee: "Because they are missionaries of mercy. Mercy occurs in confession, and these two priests spent much of their lives in the confessional."

3. The visionary Jacqueline Aubry went to join our Father in heaven on March 15th, at the age of 80.
Who is she? Let us look back at the village of L'Ile Bouchard in France, on December 8, 1947. At midday, four little girls saw the Blessed Mother in the church: Jacqueline, the eldest, was 11 years old.

There was also Jeannette, Nicole and Laura. The apparitions happened every day for a week. The Beautiful Lady, as the little visionaries called her, invited the children to "Pray for France that was in great need." Indeed, after World War II, the country was on the brink of civil war and the Communists were ready to take control. That morning, Father Finet, founder of the Foyers de Charité, had entered the room of the French mystic, Marthe Robin, and said to her: "Marthe, France is lost!" "No Father", she replied, "France is not lost as you say, because Our Lady will appear to small children..." And indeed, under the guidance of the pastor who believed the children, the whole parish of L'Ile Bouchard began to pray and, against all odds, the Communist plan failed. Since then, the Blessed Mother is venerated at L'Ile Bouchard under the name of Our Lady of Prayer.

Today, France can be saved again if more children and adults in families and in parishes come back to prayer. As Father Jozo Zovko likes to repeat, "Don't expect peace to come from your politicians! Peace will come through your prayer."

4. . Jesus appeared in Medjugorje.  Long ago,Vicka told me that during the apparition on Good Friday 1982, the Madonna appeared with Jesus. But not the way she comes every year at Christmas, when she is radiant with joy, holding her newborn Child. On that day, Jesus appeared as an adult. He was suffering His Passion and wearing his Crown of thorns. His blood was flowing down His forehead, cheeks and His beard. His face was covered with spit and mud. He was swollen from the blows He had received during the night in the prison of Caiaphas and the cruel abuse inflicted upon Him by Pilate's soldiers. He was wearing a red mantle all torn and bloody.
"Dear children," said the Gospa. "Today I have come with my Son Jesus in his Passion so that you may see how much He suffered for you and how much He loves you." I asked Vicka: "Did Jesus talk to you also?" "No", she replied, "Jesus remained silent, He said nothing. But I looked into His eyes and I saw such tenderness there, such love, such humility that for me it was more powerful than any words He could have said. I saw how much He suffered and at the same time how much He loved us! You know, I will never forget the eyes of Jesus in His Passion!"

The visionary Marija also told the story of the apparition of Christ in an interview on Radio Maria (Italy) last February 25th. This is her story: "At that time we were being persecuted by the Communists. They took us to the mental hospital which was filled with people who had mental disabilities. We suffered a lot because they told us that we too would end up the same way as them. We were 16 year-old children and we were afraid. When the Our Lady appeared, we started to cry and we told her that we did not have anymore strength to continue, we were too exhausted.

"Earlier the Gospa had warned us: we should neither eat nor drink anything the Communists would give us. We were not to accept anything from them. We later learned from one of them that they had tried to drug us. They had their plan: they had said on television that we were drugged and they wanted viewers to see that. Fortunately, the Blessed Virgin had warned us of the danger. Then they brought us back to the Church in the village, and at night, we returned home, exhausted. That is when the Blessed Virgin appeared to us. We told her that we couldn't take it anymore, that we didn't deserve what they were doing to us. To make us afraid, they said for example that Vicka's father who was working in Germany would be arrested and put in jail as soon as he came back home, that he would no longer be able to earn money to support his family and that his family would die of hunger.

We told Our Lady everything they did to us, how they had arrested us, taken us to an asylum, and how they were threatening us with having to stay there forever and becoming insane. It was then that she showed us Jesus with a crown of thorns, covered in wounds, bathed in blood, and she told us: "As He has done that out of love for you and for the whole of humanity, do it for Him as well." Jesus said nothing, he only looked at us... That night, I was unable to sleep, it had left a very deep impression. We will never forget it!

Be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit

"The disciples could not but be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit." -Acts 13:52

In the missals used by parishes over twenty years ago, the above verse is translated: "The disciples knew only how to be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit." What a great description this is for a disciple of Jesus Christ!

Disciples shake off the dust (Acts 13:51) of rejection, persecution, failure, prejudice, mistreatment, anger, bitterness, etc. They walk away from it and move on. This is part of the reason Jesus commanded His disciples to travel lightly. You can't travel very far if you're carrying a lot of spiritual baggage around.

After we disciples have completely shaken off all such dust, we never look back (see Lk 9:62). We refuse to resurrect old wounds, for love does not remember past injuries (1 Cor 13:5). We "give no thought to what lies behind but push on to what is ahead" (Phil 3:13). We "keep our eyes fixed on Jesus" (Heb 12:2).

If, in imitation of our heavenly Father, we've forgiven and forgotten so much (see Jer 31:34), what remains on our minds? All that's left is to be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit (Acts 13:52). We have empty memories and full hearts. "Receive the Holy Spirit" (Jn 20:22). "Rejoice in the Lord always! I say it again. Rejoice!" (Phil 4:4)

Father, nothing can separate me from Your love except my own free will. Take my will and give me Your will in return.

"He will lead them to springs of life-giving water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." -Rv 7:17

"Praise the Lord in His sanctuary, praise Him in the firmament of His strength" (Ps 150:1).

Fr. Stojan Damjanović: “There are great fruits of Medjugorje”

date: 06.04.2016.
Fr. Stojan Damjanović is a member of the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Redeemer based in Split. He lives on a small island, Visovac, where the Franciscans have their monastery of Our Lady of Angels and their novitiate. He is the parish curate and teacher of novices. He served in the missions in Africa. Fr. Stojan is a poet too, having written more than 200 poems, one being devoted to Our Lady, the Queen of Peace. He was our guest at Radio Mir and he spoke about the small island of Visovac and the novitiate of the Franciscan Province of Split, as well as his own experience of Medjugorje.
”The first time I heard about the apparitions in Medjugorje, I was visiting my parents in Ljuti Dolac (a village 10 miles away from Medjugorje). I said nothing. I remained open to the events while seeking to verify a little what was going on. So, I thought a lot, listened and followed all that was happening. Everything seemed really convincing. I came to Medjugorje and I accepted the events intellectually. I am happy to see so many people coming here, so many spiritual healings taking place here and so many conversions. It is a big thing not only for the Croatian people but also for the whole world. This is what assures me of God’s involvement in the whole matter. There are many fruits here and we ought to be grateful to God for having given us Medjugorje. Every time I come to Herzegovina, I come here. I do so discretely. I always rejoice when someone gives testimony about Medjugorje and I am grateful to God for every witness, said Fr. Stojan  .http://www.medjugorje.hr/en/

The Queen of Peace
Our Lady of Peace is our Mother,
Who will give us spiritual peace,
Which from a spring she brings us,
Therefore let us exult.
This spring shall never run dry,
Of living water there concealed.
And so from it we drink the water,
Which our Mother offers to us all.
The grace of God shall never run dry,
While Our Lady spreads His Word.
Of which she will never become weary,
Since greater is none among women.
The love of our Mother will endure,
Nor can she fade from our sight.
With us our Mother will remain.
For that is what she is.
Unaware are we nor do we know
How much we have need of our Mother.
Queen of Peace, our Mother.
She will show us the way.
She will plead for us with her Son,
Who will hear her fervent prayer,
For she is His Mother,
And living water He will grant us.
For our Mother desires our salvation,
In which she mightily rejoices.
Her love is beyond any words,
She wishes to give help to us all.

The Mother of Peace prays with us,
All of whom here she loves dearly.
She has passed thirty summers with us,
And strongly confounded the evil spirits.
Our Lady, Our Mother has a goal,
She is patient and knows how to aid us.
She commends us all to our God,
So that her blissful children we may be.
She will pray for all to her Son,
And be with us right to the end.
Because she is our Mother,
So will she remain with us.
It is easy for us to go astray,
And lose faith in our God.
But when a child loses the way,
His Mother loves him even more.

Our Mother’s love always lasts,
Our Mother’s love never ceases.
For she can never become weary,
Nor can her love come to an end.
Our amen is all that she needs,
She will plead with Her Son.
And salvation will be granted,
Her children will be with her.
Therefore let us thank Our Lady,
Pray to Our Mother of Peace.

I implore you to pray for your shepherds

(c)Mateo Ivankovic 2016

J.M.J.
April 8, 2016
First Friday

Dear Family of Mary!

"...I implore you to pray for your shepherds that at every moment they may have love, that they may work for my Son with love - through Him and in memory of Him. Thank you." (April 2, 2016)

Someone wrote to me after we received the April 2 message, expressing great joy that Our Lady again asked us to pray for our shepherds. I felt the same way! The last message in which Our Lady asked for prayer for our shepherds was December 2, 2015!

Why are we so happy to pray for our shepherds? Well, it must be that we love them so much! We are aware that they have given their lives to become our pastors, our caretakers in the faith. Through them we encounter the Eucharistic Lord. In the confessional they forgive us and counsel us with Jesus' words and Jesus' mercy. They teach us about the Lord at Mass, through the Scriptures and the Church's tradition. They watch over us day and night. We love them!

Here are some of the ways Our Lady has asked us to pray for them:

Pray for your shepherds that they may have the strength and the love to be bridges of salvation. (12/02/15)

"Pray also for your shepherds, for those who renounced everything for the sake of my Son and for your sake. Love them and pray for them." (10/02/15)

"Pray to be able to see my Son in your shepherds. Pray to be able to embrace Him in them." (08/02/15)

"Pray for your shepherds. They belong to my Son. He called them. Pray that they may always have the strength and the courage to shine with the light of my Son." (06/02/15)

"Pray for the holiness of your shepherds, so that in the name of my Son they can work miracles, because holiness works miracles. Thank you." (05/02/15)

"Pray for your shepherds because they are the strength of the Church which my Son left to you. Through my Son, they are the shepherds of souls. Thank you." (03/02/15)

"I am imploring you anew to pray for your shepherds so that they may always look to my Son who was the first Shepherd of the world and whose family was the entire world." (12/02/14)

"Pray that your shepherds, with their blessed hands, may always give you the joy of God's blessing. Thank you." (03/18/14)

We love our priests, our shepherds. They are bridges of salvation who have renounced everything for the sake of Jesus and for our sake as well. They make it so that we can see Jesus in the Eucharist and in all the Sacraments. They are the strength of the Church! May they always look to Jesus for strength and wisdom, and may we be blessed by their consecrated hands with Your blessing, Jesus!

Here is a beautiful prayer for priests written by John Cardinal O'Connor:

Lord Jesus, we your people pray to You for our priests. You have given them to us for OUR needs. We pray for them in THEIR needs.

We know that You have made them priests in the likeness of your own priesthood. You have consecrated them, set them aside, annointed them, filled them with the Holy Spirit, appointed them to teach, to preach, to minister, to console, to forgive, and to feed us with Your Body and Blood.

Yet we know, too, that they are one with us and share our human weaknesses. We know too that they are tempted to sin and discouragement as are we, needing to be ministered to, as do we, to be consoled and forgiven, as do we. Indeed, we thank You for choosing them from among us, so that they understand us as we understand them, suffer with us and rejoice with us, worry with us and trust with us, share our beings, our lives, our faith.

We ask that You give them this day the gift You gave Your chosen ones on the way to Emmaus: Your presence in their hearts, Your holiness in their souls, Your joy in their spirits. And let them see You face to face in the breaking of the Eucharistic bread.

We pray to You, O Lord, through Mary the mother of all priests, for Your priests and for ours. Amen.   (March, 1995)

MAKING WAVES

"Better for us to obey God than men!" -Acts 5:29

The Holy Spirit is given to those that obey God (Acts 5:32). additional movements of the Spirit are given to those who obey God in greater ways. The experience of Jesus' disciples illustrates this principle. They obeyed Him by devoting themselves to constant prayer for nine days (Acts 1:14). Then they received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Before they received the Spirit a second time (Acts 4:31), they obeyed the Lord to a much greater degree. "They devoted themselves to the apostles' instruction and the communal life, to the breaking of bread and the prayers" (Acts 2:42). "Those who believed shared all things in common; they would sell their property and goods, dividing everything on the basis of each one's need" (Acts 2:44-45). Before a third wave of the Spirit came, they obeyed to the point of being arrested, having been "judged worthy of ill-treatment for the sake of the Name" (Acts 5:41). Before the next wave of the Spirit, Steven obeyed to the point of giving up his life for Jesus and becoming the first martyr.

The Holy Spirit is not rationed (Jn 3:34) but given lavishly (Ti 3:6). The waves keep on coming to those who keep on obeying in ever greater ways. Do you want a new wave of the Spirit? In what way will you obey the Lord as never before? The Holy Spirit continues to be given to those who obey God - more.

Father, I will obey You even to death and the cross, and therefore be exalted (see Phil 2:8-9).  Come, Holy Spirit, with wave after wave of Your gifts and graces.

"Whoever believes in the Son has life eternal. Whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure the wrath of God." -Jn 3:36

Renewal in the Holy Spirit of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina

Members of the prayer community “Bozja Pobjeda” (God’s Victory) in Medjugorje

date: 06.04.2016.
Members of the prayer community “Božja Pobjeda” from Zagreb, arrived in Medjugorje on pilgrimage at the beginning of April.  They came to participate in the second meeting of “The Charismatic Prayer Communities”, in coordination with “The Renewal in the Holy Spirit of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina”, which was held from 1st to 3rd  April 1 2016, in Medjugorje. Their members Ana and Petar Buljan, as well as the leader of the community, Marko Blagović, were our guests on a programme on Radio Mir Medjugorje. Marko spoke about the very beginning of their prayer community, which began as a community of young people: “We used to gather for prayer and praise of God. We wanted young people to experience an encounter with the living God and we began to have open prayer meetings which anyone could attend.  These meeting are full of hymns and glorification of God.  Besides that the community has many other projects, some of which have already been established and some of which are about to come into being.  Every last Saturday of the month we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for young people.

I was inspired to initiate it right here in Medjugorje, during the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in St. James’ church.  I thought we could start something like that.  It took us a year to begin.  We also have formation projects, so that we might all personally grow in many different areas.  Ana added that this is her sixth year as part of this community: “This is the lifestyle I have chosen. The Lord speaks to me in serving, in being active and in prayer”.  Marko said that Medjugorje has a special place in his heart:

“Ten years ago, after my conversion, the community organised a trip to Medjugorje. It was here that we had beautiful experiences of prayer, closeness and communion.  Let’s just say that we experienced silence which we had never had before. What was interesting was that the leader of the community at that time said that we all felt good in Medjugorje, as if we were at home. This is because where our mother is, is where we are at home.”.
